Today’s R2S: The Business Of Socks
John Lee Cronin is a 21 year old man with down syndrome who has turned his love of socks into a multi million dollar venture. In December of 2016 he and his father started a website called Johns Crazy Socks. The company is part of an infrastructure known as Pick and Pack warehouse which means they distribute socks made by other companies. In a little over a year, they have shipped nearly 42000 orders and almost 2 million in revenue.
They believe the company has been successful because of its focus on 3 main principles:
1. Provide hope and inspiration
2. Give back
3. Excellent customer service
Mark, Johns father says they hire people with disabilities to show what they can do when they give you a chance. John, who is a special Olympics athlete, donates 5 percent of every order to the special Olympics, and last but not least every package is sent with love.
