Today’s Reason to Smile: The Bond Between Player and Coach
When Braheam Murphy of Charlotte NC, a senior at Harding University High School was a freshman he was struggling. He was kicked off his high school's football team due to poor academic performance and did not have a steady place to live.
According to Sunny Skyz, his coach Sam Greiner realized day after day he was consistently dropping Murphy off at different locations after practice; and when he learned more about his situation and decided to do something about it. That was when the coach and his wife took Murphy into their home.
Two years have passed since Murphy began living with the Greiners and in that time, he has become a straight A student, he lead his team to the NCHSAA 4A State Championship where he was named MVP, and has been offered a scholarship to West Point Military Academy.
