Tokyo 2020 Olympics Looking at New Sports to Add

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics have a deadline of the end of this week to take submission for Olympic sports wannabes. These are sports that are not Olympic sports but would like to be included in the 2020 games.

There have been 26 sports that have already applied as either a full sport or for demonstration status. Tug of War, which was an Olympic sport in 1920, wants back in. Softball and Baseball are on the list, they both were voted out of the Olympics in 2012, the first sport voted out since polo in 1936.

Football is looking for a shot at the Olympics as well as bridge, surfing, sumo wrestling, chess, surfing and water skiing. The Tokyo Olympic Committee will make their decision on what sports, if any, will be added and make the announcement in September.
