Toyota Recalling 700,000 Vehicles Over Fuel Pump Issues
Toyota announced it is recalling close to 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the United States due to issues with the fuel pumps.
Toyota warns that "the fuel pumps may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This can result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash.The pumps can stop operating, the company said, leading to engine failure"
Toyota is currently investigating this issue and will be developing a remedy. When the remedy is available, there will be no cost to vehicle owners. All known owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by first class mail by mid-March.
This recall effects certain models of 2018-2019 Toyota & Lexus vehicles.
