TRAFFIC ALERT: Waterville Street To Be Closed Sunday Night

Here's something to keep in mind if you plan to travel through downtown Waterville on Sunday evening or early Monday morning.

According to the KJ, Front Street, from Spring Street to Common Street, will be closed to traffic from 6 PM on Sunday (June 7th) evening until approximately 6 AM on Monday (June 8th) morning.

The purpose of the closure is to allow construction crews the opportunity to install drainage pipes.

As you may have guessed, this is part of the Lockwood Hotel construction project.

A spokesperson from West Gardiner's Steven A. McGee Construction says construction of the new hotel will be completed by fall, despite issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
