US Senator Angus King Kicks Off Harley Tour of Maine

It's been a tradition in Maine for years... Angus King dusts off the hog and hits the back roads!

King has driven his motorcycle all over the state, from back in the '90s when he was governor, and now as he serves Maine as a US Senator in Washington.

This year, Senator King is set to cycle from Augusta to Brunswick, via Skowhegan, Dover-Foxcroft, Ellsworth, Old Town, Richmond and more. See his full schedule at the bottom of this post.

Along the road, King will meet with community members, make a stop at the Skowhegan State Fair, visit with folks at the East Orrington Congregational Church, and make friends at stops along the way. Senator King will be joined on the motorcycle ride by old friends and fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.

King also has a terrific Instagram account, where he frequently posts (his own) photos of life in Maine and DC, and some great behind-the-scenes updates that the public seldom gets to see.

Senator King has also been known to ride a few other "recreational vehicles" around Maine... like hitting the ice on a sled in Rangeley:
