Regular lottery players woke up on Sunday morning to the news that, even though no one had won that billion dollar Powerball jackpot, there was a big winner in the State of Maine.

Someone had purchased a tickets that was worth $2 million!

For several days, mostly because Monday was a holiday, we had no idea where the winning ticket was sold.

Honestly, I was kind of giddy when I was checking my own tickets on Monday afternoon.  I did win, but not several million bucks.  In the end, I walked away with a cool $11!

But, what about the $2 million winning ticket?  Even though we don't know who purchased the ticket, we now know where it was sold.

According to an article on the WMTW website, the winning ticket was sold at the Handy Shop on Bridge Street in Howland.

Howland, for those who don't know, is a small town just north of Bangor.

If you purchased a Powerball ticket in Howland, you are going to want to check your tickets.  The winning numbers for Saturday's drawing were: 47, 54, 57, 60, 65 and a Powerball of 19.

As of the time this article was written (11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023), the Powerball jackpot was still up for grabs.  The estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, October 11th drawing is $1.73 BILLION.

If you are a regular Powerball player, we wish you the best of luck!  And, if you win, remember who reminded you to buy those lottery tickets.
