
Well Known Lewiston Bowling Alley Reopening Under New Ownership
There aren't too many bowling alleys left in Maine, so when the news traveled that Sparetime Recreation and Bowling in Lewiston was up for sale, the fear of seeing another business close really set in.
Thankfully though, that isn't the case when it comes to Sparetime Recreation of Lewiston.
According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, Lewiston's former bowling alley is opening under new ownership and a new name. Just-In-Time Recreation will open its door on Wednesday, September 1st.
Unfortunately, in the Spring of 2021, the former owners of Sparetime Recreation and Bowling made the hard decision to close the doors in May. This decision wasn't due to the ongoing pandemic; the bowling alley had actually been for sale for more than 9 years.
That was until April of this year when Justin and Samantha Juray, of Sabattus, bought the bowling alley after tossing the idea around for a few years. The new owners wasted no time and got right to work adding a bar, expanding the kitchen, updating bathrooms, and even adding a sit-down dining area.
