For the last few years, there have been very few in person festivals and fairs.  Yes, 2021 was way better than 2020 was, but it was still not as normal as 2019 had been.  However, as we make the change from a pandemic to the COVID-19 virus becoming endemic, we are seeing the return of many more festivals.

The Maine Lobster Festival is one of these events.

According to The Bangor Daily News, after a 2 year pause caused by the pandemic, The Maine Lobster Festival will return this August.

For many families, one of the highlights of the event is the crowning of the Maine Sea Goddess, Crown Princess and Miss congeniality.

The 2022 Maine Sea Goddess, Crown Princess, and Miss Congeniality will be crowned during the opening night ceremonies of the Festival taking place on August 3rd of 2022.

These young ladies will be chosen from a group of 20 teenagers and young women who are between the ladies of 17 and 21, are high school graduates, and are looking to represent Maine's fishing industry.

After being crowned the 2022 Maine Sea Goddess, the winner will represent the Maine lobster industry as well as the midcoast at several fairs, festivals, and events throughout Maine and New England.

Applications can be filled out by visiting The Maine Lobster Festival website and must be submitted no later than May 22.  The lady that is titled the 2022 Maine Sea Goddess will receive a cash prize of $2,000, $1,000, will be awarded to the Crown Princess and Miss Congeniality will receive $250!
