Does Maine Really Have the Best Food in the Country?
Thanks to an influx of amazing kitchen talent, Maine has become a New England culinary hub.
These days, Maine is home to some of the best restaurants in the country. These restaurants serve everything from seafood (of course) to steaks to Korean cuisine. While many of these world-class eateries are found in Portland, or in the trendy coastal towns, you can find at least one amazing restaurant in nearly every town.
Yes, Maine has great food, but does Maine have some of the best food in the country?
According to one travel publication, Maine is in the Top 10 when it comes to states with the best food.
Which State Has the Best Food?
According to an article on the Far and Wide website, Maine has the 10th best food in the country.
The reason our rural paradise ranked so high was not because of lobster, either. In fact, the article trashes lobster, saying eating a lobster is like eating a "butter-poached paper towel".
Instead, the article focuses on all of the other things the state is known for, saying:
It contains wild blueberries or strawberries, tons of non-lobster seafood, the Seven-Napkin Burger, Whoopie Pies and Portland
Even though I disagree with what the author had to say about lobster, I was happy to see that they referenced all of the other great things about Maine's food scene.

Which State Has the Absolute Best Food in America?
California topped the list because it is a melting pot of many cultures.
New York came in second place. Much like California, the state has a lot of diversity. Additionally, because of the number of rich people who live there, it has many of the country's top restaurants.
Louisiana came in 3rd place because eating in the state is more than a meal, it is an experience.
