Like a lot of people, I have never been a big fan of time change.

Whether were are "springing ahead" or "falling back" it is disruptive.  When we spring ahead we get the benefit of it being lighter later, but we also lose an hour of sleep.  In the fall, when we turn the clocks back, we gain an hour of sleep, but we also have to deal with the fact that it gets darker much earlier.

Even though there has been talk of eliminating the practice here in the United States for years, we still do it.  It becomes a topic of conversation every year, but we never change it.

So, when do we set our clocks back in 2026?

When Does Daylight Savings Time End in 2026?

Believe it or not, we change out clocks on Halloween Night.  Well, if you want to be specific, you turn your clocks back at 2 AM on Sunday, November 1st.

Of course, with the exception of a few old devices and clocks, all of your devices (phones, computers, tablets, etc) will set themselves back at the appropriate time.

Why Do We Still Do Time Change?

According to USA Facts, daylight saving time was first introduced in the U.S. in 1918 to conserve fuel and power during World War I, but it was repealed after the war. It returned during World War II before being repealed again in 1945. The twice-yearly time changes Americans know today were established by the Uniform Time Act of 1966, with the most recent change coming in 2005, when Congress extended daylight saving time from the second Sunday in March through the first Sunday in November.
