Sinkhole Causing Traffic Issues in Windham, Maine
If you normally travel through Windham, Maine you may want to find an alternate route this afternoon.
According to an article on the WMTW website, and a post on the Windham Public Works Facebook page, a sinkhole has opened up on Route 202 near the rotary where it meets Route 302.
Public Works Director Brian Morin reportedly told reporters from WMTW that the small sinkhole showed up Thursday morning on Gray Road near Hall Implement Company.
Around 9:45 AM, the town announced that traffic on that stretch of Route 202 was reduced to one lane while police and firefighters worked the scene.
According to traffic maps, cars were moving slowly along Gray Road on the north side of the rotary.
Morin said crews were still making repairs as of early afternoon.

While we often have to deal with backups caused by street and road construction, especially during the summer months, we rarely have to deal with traffic issues caused by sinkholes. What a pain! Obviously, we are just glad that no one was injured in the incident.
