One Central Maine man has died and another is injured following an early Saturday morning crash in China.

According to the KJ, the crash happened on the Neck Road in China just after 12:30 on Saturday morning.

A 2006 Chevy Cobalt was unable to negotiate a turn and rolled over several times.  Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The news website said that the passenger, 63 year old Peter S. Fernald Jr, of Winslow, was taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.  Sadly, at about 6 AM, he passed away from his injuries.

Driver of the vehicle was 48 year old Bruce K. Bourget.  He was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral in Augusta.

The investigation into the crash continues.

Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office deputies were assisted by Waterville Fire & Rescue.
