Will Winter Storm Blair Affect Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts?
It's been a while since Central Maine has seen a decent-sized snowfall.
According to How Much Will It Snow?, which keeps track of the snowfall totals for various towns and cities across the United States, Augusta received 8 1/2" on March 23rd, 2024.
It's been nearly three years since our area was hit with over a foot of snow. On March 29th, 2022, Central Maine got dumped on by 14" of snow. I can clearly remember that day. It started snowing just after sunrise and continued snowing until after the sun went down.
It's kind of hard to believe that was nearly three years ago.

Winter Storm Blair
This massive storm, which is still forming off the West Coast of the United States, is expected to stretch between 1,300 and 1,500 miles.
Weather.com is warning that this storm will dump a nasty mix of snow and ice on affected areas. This is expected to make travel incredibly dangerous in some parts of the country, especially in parts of the country that do not normally get winter weather. Nashville and Atlanta, for example.
Will This Massive Storm Hit Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts?
As of Friday, January 3rd, Winter Storm Blair is expected to impact the Pacific Northwest, Northern Midwest, parts of the southern United States, and portions of the East Coast.

Currently, it looks as though the storm will only come as far north as New York and Connecticut. However, as the storm is still forming, it is possible that the forecast could change dramatically.
