I am a huge American Idol fan. I have watched religiously since season one. Last night while I was watching, I had that 'the show just jumped the shark moment'. Here's a look back at last night's show.

Boy George is the mentor. He gave good advice to the contestants and seemed very interested in being there. Maybe one of the best parts of the show last night.

Then, David Hasselhoff came on stage to delivery the results envelope and then he sang a montage of 80's songs. This was extremely cringe worthy and the jump the shark moment for the show.

That was followed by the American Idol trademark bad group song.

Finally the contestants.

1. Daniel Seavey: Ugh. This kid is still on the show. He tries to sing Hall & Oates 'You Make My Dreams' from 1981. It's really awful, his voice cracked a few times, like Peter Brady on the Brady Bunch. Throw in his cheesy dance moves and this is Hasselhoffian. To make it worse, the judges praise the kid. D-.

2. Quentin Alexander: He's growing on me. He sings 'In The Air Tonight' by Phil Collins from 1981. Quentin is smooth on stage and an average singer. The performance was fairly solid. B.

3. Joey Cook: She's been good the past few weeks. She picks 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper. On paper this should work. She kind of reminds me of Cyndi. However, this performance was more annoying than entertaining. C-

4. Tyanna Jones: She takes on Whitney Houston's 'I Want To Dance With Somebody'. She has the vocal chops! Great tone and she seems like a nice kid. This was finally something worth watching. A.

5. Jax: She takes on Bon Jovi 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. She's on the piano and I am liking her take on the song. Then the band kicked in and she was exposed at being only a fair singer, at least the power in her voice. She also seems like she's getting a little smug. B-.

6. Nick Fradiani: He sings 'Man In The Mirror' by Michael Jackson. Nick is a good, no nonsense singer. He does a solid but not spectacular job on the song. I think Nick will be in the final four. B.

7. Clark Beckham: He takes on The Police and 'Every Breath You Take'. He slays it on the piano. The judges praise him. He is clearly the front runner to win. A.

8. Qaasim Middleton: Sings 'Addicted To Love' by Robert Palmer. He toned down his stage antics and was a little more in tune. Still he's one of the weaker vocalist on the show. D+.

9. Rayvon Owens: He sings 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' by Tears for Fears. I thought is was a bad song choice. Rayvon was one of my favorites early on but he has had two bad weeks in a row. C.

That means country girl Maddie and soul/pop singer Adanna are eliminated.

Here are the video performances from Tyanna and Clark from last night.
