My baby's a little fighting machine!!

Not really.

What karate DOES teach is discipline, patience and defense. Something I think all kids should know! And he's doing it all at the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville!

On the ride there, Anderson was very quiet. I asked if he was okay with going and he said "I'm nervous." I asked him why and he said "I don't know if everyone will like me. I'm so small." My heart just about broke. I told him that karate doesn't care if you're big or small. It's for everyone! Boys, girls, big and small...EVERYONE can learn karate. He was much happier after that. I told him it's kind of like Simon Says...only you do everything the teacher says and he doesn't have to say Simon Says.

We didn't go out and buy him a gi and everything right away. Renshi Craig Sargent of Camp Naha Karate-Do told us to let him experience it for a few weeks to see if he likes it and if he does, THEN go get the gear.

Judging by his face when he came out of class, I think it's going to stick! AND it's affordable! I can't wait to see him in a gi! My little man is growing up. Is there anyway to make time stand still?
