American Idol is at the point in the season where America gets to vote. Last night the top 12 guys performed. The show didn't seem like it was live and it was extremely rushed. However, the guys overall did a good job. Here's my recap.

Adam Ezegalian started the show with some Twisted Sister and 'I Wanna Rock'. He's a fun guy that can carry a tune, but he's more frat house material than American Idol.

Michael Simone was next with Michael Bolton, I won't hold it against him. He has a very good tone to his voice but I wonder if he stood out enough.

Savion Wright sang 'Hey Soul Sister' by Train. Savion tried out last season and was cut just before the top 24 were selected. His performance wasn't that good or bad. It was very ordinary at best.

Mark Andrew sang The Weight by The Band. I love the song and his performance, but I'm a middle aged man. Will the younger demo appreciate this performance?

Trevor Douglas sang a Gavin McGraw song and this was the first rough one of the night. His vocals weren't good at all.

Clark Beckham belted out When A Man Loves A Woman. I really think Clark is one of the best of the guys.

Rayvon Owens sang some Nick Jonas. I think Rayvon could have the most ready radio voice of the guys. His performance was a little pedestrian. I hope his vocals are enough to have him make it through.

Daniel Seavey, the 15-year-old, cue the screaming girls. He looked and sounded like a deer caught in the headlights. He butchered Jason Mraz and the judges didn't call him on it. I think the teen vote saves him.

Riley Bria, he's a teenage version of Keith Urban. He performed the only country song of the night 'Homeboy' by Eric Church. He can sing and plays a good guitar, not sure the song fit his voice. He is still one of my favorites.

Quentin Amexander sang 'I Put A Spell On You' he came out in a fur coat and was channeling  James Brown. It was a bold performance but I don't think he connected with the audience that votes on this show.

Nick Fradiani, the oldest contestant of the guys, he's 29. He was very good as he sang one of the biggest pop hits right now, 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran. Nick really wasn't featured during the earlier rounds but I think he's one of the best.

Qaasim Middleton wrapped up the show with a high energy performance of 'Uptown Funk'. It was fun and decent vocally.

Four of the twelve guys will be leaving next week. The top 12 girls sing tonight.
