Auburn's Outlet Beach opened for the season this week, but there will be no swimming allowed for the foreseeable future. Auburn City Manager Clinton Deschene told the Lewiston Sun Journal that 'the water in the outlet has failed quality tests eight of the last 13 times it was tested.'The park is open and will be available for public access and recreation, but no swimming.

The park hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through September 3rd.

The park will still offer picnic tables, gazebos, a playground and grills. A project for this summer will add two new beach volleyball courts.
