August 22 is Tongue Twister Day which is the combination of sounds that make people lose control of their mouth or twist their tongue. MIT researchers came up with (what they say) is the world’s hardest tongue twister. Here it is:

‘Pad kid poured curd pulled cold’. When asked to repeat that phrase fast 10 times during a U.S. speech study, they couldn’t do it.

Other tongue twisters that may stump people don’t have to be a ‘string’ of words, some of the hardest to do are only two words long. Try some of these: ‘Toy Boat’, Top Cop’ and Irish Wristwatch’.
