This is Dr. Deborah Cohan. Before her November 5th double mastectomy she decided to have an little operating room dance party. Dr Cohan and her medical team threw a pre-op dance party in the operating room at the University of California-San Francisco Medical Center at Mount Zion.
Today is election in day in Maine. There are five bond issues for voters, so those will be on everyone’s ballots. If you community has any local races or issues you will find those on your ballot as well. Not sure where you need to go to vote? Find your location here. According to what I was reading at Maine.gov, you are not registered to vote as of Election Day, you can register on Election Day and vote. You must register in person and must show ID and proof of where you live, but you can do it.

The Kennebec Valley YMCA has their next round of ‘Lose It With The Y’ that starts Monday November 4th with a initial meeting from 5-6pm their Alfond Gymnasium at the Augusta campus of the KVYMCA . So today, all over the news is the news that gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud made the announcement he is gay. Excuse me while I yawn. This should be the biggest non-issue around. But from what I was reading Michaud, who is a six-term congressman for the state of Maine, felt he needed to address his sexuality to counter "whisper campaigns, insinuations and push-polls" that raised questions about his personal life. So he did, with an op-ed piece that was released today.
OH you WILL need tissues for this story. Zachary is a 13 year old student who is also autistic. His Mom said he has played football with the same guys since he was a little kid. Well, at a recent game his teammates and their game opponents understood there is more to life than football and helped this magic moment become a reality.
This happened in Saratoga Springs, NY on Oct 24th. 50 ducks made it through two sets of automatic doors into the store. The staff ended up getting the ducks out of the store with a little popcorn to lure them outside.
Tuesday November 5th is an election day in Maine. So, if you were planning voting by absentee ballot you better get going on that. We have until Thursday, Oct 31 to request an absentee ballot. That also includes requests to vote in the presence of the municipal clerk.
