New England Patriots Cut Super Bowl MVP and Other Fan Favorites
As opening day gets closer, the New England Patriots are getting down to a 53 man roster. Today they made some surprising cuts of veterans. Among those let loose, was former Super Bowl MVP, wide reciever Deion Branch. Also, long time center Dan Koppen was given his walking papers. as was back-up QB Brian Hoyer and safety James Ihedigbo.

West Nile Virus Now Confirmed by CDC in Maine
The Maine Center for Disease Control has confirmed the presence of West Nile virus in mosquitoes in the state. Also, West Nile virus has now been confirmed in a Pennsylvania resident who was visiting the state. She contracted the virus before she arrived in Maine, so she’s being counted as a Pennsylvania case instead of a Maine case.

The 'L.L. Bean Free Summer Concert Series' presents veteran singer-songwriter Suzy Bogguss, Saturday September 1, 7:30 pm. Bogguss, known for her contemporary spin on traditional country music has released top 10 singles and platinum and gold albums in addition to her newest project, the 'American Folk Songbook.'
New Laws Go Into Effect in Maine Thursday
Starting Thursday, get ready for some news laws set to go in effect. Among the new laws, teenage drivers have restrictions restrictions under the intermediate license from six to nine months. Those restrictions include no passengers except family members and no driving between midnight and 5am.
New Contract for NE Patriots Aaron Hernandez and Cut Down Day
The New England Patriots are gearing up for the kick-off of a new season. Today was a day of big smiles for Aaron Hernandez, but frowns for others. The former 4th rounder inked a contract extension while others said goodbye. It was a big cut-down day. The roster had to be trimmed to 75 and some long time favorites were let go.
