Country News: Jeff Cook From Alabama Reveals He Has Parkinson’s

Fiddle player and vocalist for Alabama, Jeff Cook, has Parkinson’s disease. Cook found out four years ago but just recently shared the news. Alabama members Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry were by his side when he read a prepared statement saying he’ll step back from his duties with the band on April 29. According to The Boot, his loss of balance and coordination, as well as tremors makes it too frustrating to continue to play.

Country News: Kenny Chesney Adds a Couple More Concerts


Kenny Chesney will do a couple of more concerts this year other than the two at Gillette Stadium. He has announced four more shows in 2017. Chesney has added concerts at Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Aug. 4; Orange Beach, Alabama’s Wharf Amphitheatre on Aug. 5; and at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, on Aug. 10 and 11. His two shows at Gillette will be August 25 and 26. According to The Boot, Chesney decided to scale down this year but couldn’t no play a little bit.

Country News: Class of 2017 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees

The 2017 class of inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame were announced by host Vince Gill on Wednesday. The three new members of the Hall are: Alan Jackson, songwriter Don Schlitz and the great Jerry Reed. The Boot said past inductees also attended the ceremony including Brenda Lee, Alabama and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Chris Stapleton says one isn’t enough so he will be releasing two albums this year. According to the two albums will be linked together conceptually. Both albums were recorded at the same time and will be released as volume 1 & 2. From A Room: Volume 1 will be come out on May 5 and From A Room: Volume 2 will be released later this year.
