Quotas Set for Maine’s Elver Harvest

This year Maine’s elver eel season opens late and comes with new rules and guidelines.

The Department of Marine Resources has reached an agreement with the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission that sets the elver eel catch limit this year to 11,749 total pounds.

I have noticed something different this spring while driving around Augusta. I have seen 'Rough Road' signs popping up, I've seen them on Bangor Street and Mount Vernon Avenue. I am use to seeing the orange 'Frost Heave' signs but I never noticed these 'Rough Road' signs.
