Originally made in 1977, Disney has remade the classic movie "Pete's Dragon".  My personal opinion is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' and I will probably always be a fan of the original movie.  But, for my kids, I'm certain they are going to love this movie.

With over 600 thousand dislikes after more than 30 million views, the new (all female) Ghostbusters movie trailer is the most disliked video in the history of all YouTube!!  I love the cast of the movie and so bummed that the reviews are already so poor based off of the trailer.  It made me chuckle.  But I can see where it is going to be (or already is) an extremely corny movie.

The 19th annual Maine International Film Festival kicks off Friday (7/8) with films to be shown at Railroad Square Cinema and the Waterville Opera House.

It's Camp Flagship at Flagship Cinemas in Waterville.  This is open to groups and the general public and are FREE to watch.  The movies are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays starting at 10am.  Doors open at 9:30am.  It is suggested that large groups call (873-0033) in advance for proper seating arrangements.

I met Hallie Twomey when she came in for an interview at the radio station about her ‘Scattering CJ’ effort. You see, CJ is her son. He committed suicide in front of his parents at their home in Auburn, Maine.

Turtles in a half shell...turtle power!  Cowabunga Dude!  The big box stores are all about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since the recent release of their new movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows.  I saw a display over the weekend that was selling TMNT movies...the older version along with the new updated version of the turtles.  It got me thinking...

For a state that many think is ‘out-of-the-way’, Maine has a fairly good film biography for the state. That’s movies that were made in or partially made in Maine.

Spoiler alert, I'm a huge Superhero movie geek. So, I am quite excited about "Captain America: Civil War," which is opening in theaters all over Maine (and the rest of the country) this week.

While we wait for the official trailer to arrive, Legendary debuted the first sneak peek at Kong: Skull Island, taking us behind the scenes of Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ epic journey into the heart of King Kong's origins. The featurette offers our first real look at the upcoming reboot, with footage from the Vietnam set and interviews with cast and crew members, and Tom Hiddleston packing a very large gun.
