Dog Swallows 43 Socks
When a Portland, Oregon couple’s Great Dane was not feeling well they rushed him to the vet and found the problem. The dog had 43 socks in its stomach, socks it ate over time, which the owners had no idea, and building up in his stomach causing him not to able to swallow.
It took two hours of surgery to remove all the socks and the dog is expected to be fine. Dr. Ashley Magee thought this case was so strange she entered the dog’s unusual case into a contest sponsored by Veterinary Practice News called ‘They Ate WHAT?’. The great Dane won a prize, not the top prize though.
The top prize of $1.500.00 went to a Texas animal hospital that removed more than 30 small ornamental rocks from a frog. The exotic frog ate the rocks from its cage.
