Brenda Jarvis, 72, and her sister Caddie Smith have been helping injured and abandoned cats in the Dixfield area for the past several years. They have a trailer where they keep the rescued cats. Jarvis tells the Lewiston Sun-Journal that some of the cats were found in dumpsters, or in boxes on the side of Route 2.The sisters are in need of donations. They need canned and dry food, kitty litter, kitty treats and even monetary donations. They are currently looking after 15 cats in their trailer. Donations can be made through Christmas day at the Dixfield Town Office and at Log Cabin Craftworks on Main Street.
