The first ever Farmington Fire and Ice Festival is set for Saturday, March 9 in downtown Farmington. The event will feature fun, family activities, including snow tubing between Front and Main streets, an ice-carving demonstration by Wicked Good Ice, dog sled rides, a road race and snowshoe races. The day will wrap up with a fireworks show at 6:20 at Prescott Field.Most events are free. Others involve a small fee or you can purchase a festival pass for $5 to help pay for activities, including the fireworks show.

Passes go on sale at 11 a.m. at a booth in front of Franklin Savings Bank on Main Street.

The festival will also feature a performance by comedian Randy Judkins, a snowman making contest, an indoor children's carnival, a cooking demonstration, horse drawn wagon rides, students from U.M.F. will be performing fire dances and a bonfire is scheduled at Prescott Field.
