In a trend that is good news for all drivers, gas prices continue to drop this week; both nationally and here in Maine.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas this week in Maine is at $2.268, which is down a cent and a half from last weeks average of $2.283.

For the first time in three weeks, the national average price for gas has dropped. This weeks average price is at $2.297, which is down from last weeks average of $2.311 as gallon.

We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine, and in Augusta, the lowest  prices we could find were at the Kenoco Station at 336 Western Ave, and at the Shell Station on 216 Eastern Ave, both of which reported gas at $2.20 a gallon.

In Waterville, the cheapest place for gas we could find was at the Citgo Station on 364 Main St Waterville Commons Dr which is checking in with gas at $2.25 a gallon.
