Four-year-old Jaydon Talbot of Harmony is recovering from the amputation of his right leg after he was caught in the blades of a lawn mower his father was driving. The accident happened this past Wednesday evening, when the boy's father was cutting the grass at their home.Jaydon had fallen out of a trailer that was attached to the back of the mower, when the accident occurred.

The boy was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan before being taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

A Spokesperson for Eastern Maine Medical Center said Jaydon was in critical condition as of Thursday. The boy's aunt, Teresa Gourley tells the Portland Press Herald that he is expected to recover from the accident.

The accident is still under investigation, but criminal charges are unlikely, according to the Somerset County Sheriff's Department.

Nationally, 3,780 children are 14 and under were treated in emergency rooms for injures related to lawn mower accidents in 2011, according to the U.S.Consumer Product Safety Commission.
