Maine Gas Prices Drop Slightly

The summer travel season is under way, and there is some good news for Maine motorists, as gas prices in the state dropped by slightly more than a penny this week. That's according to the gas monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com, which surveys more than 1,200 gas stations in the state.New Hampshire has the lowest gas prices in New England with an average gallon of gas at $3.46, while Maine's average is at $3.56 a gallon.

The national average is at $3.64 a gallon.

South Carolina has the lowest average for a gallon of gasoline at $3.17.

In Maine, the lowest gas price came in at $3.38 in Old Town.
