Maine Gas Prices Lower This Week; Now Averaging Under $2 A Gallon

As oil prices dropped to under $30 per barrel, gas prices in Maine tumbled over seven cents per gallon this week for a statewide average of $1.97 per gallon. Prices are according to the price-monitoring website GasBuddy.com.

Nationally, gas prices dipped eight cents per gallon, for an average of $1.89.

Within Maine, the lowest gas price reported was a $1.78 per gallon at a gas station in Newport.

Oklahoma has the lowest average gas prices at $1.56 per gallon.

Only 12 states and Washington D.C. has an average gas price of $2 or higher.
