Mainers Love Their Green Bean Casserole

A study from Del Monte shows that Maine loves Green Bean Casserole. They estimate that 30 million green-bean casseroles will be served on Thanksgiving tables this week, many of them in Maine.

The 2015 Del Monte Green Bean Index shows that Maine comes in 10th in the states that expect to eat green-bean casserole this Thanksgiving.

Here's the Top Ten:

1. Louisiana 60%
2. Oklahoma 58%
3. Kentucky 57%
4. Florida 54%
5. Wisconsin 52%
6. Missouri 51%
7. Colorado 50%
8. Kansas 49%
9. New Hampshire 48%
10. Maine 46%

Vermont was 11th, Massachusetts 26th, Rhode Island 37th and Connecticut 22%.

Hawaii came in last with only 17% expecting to eat green-bean casserole on Thanksgiving Day.

Del Monte also asked people what their favorite 'secret ingredient', a single, creative item that can be added to the green-bean casserole.
