The Global Well Being poll came out and of 135 countries, Panama, came in at number one. The poll conducted in 2013 and released this week, looks at five things people feel about their lives. Sense of purpose, social connections, community, finances and physical vigor.

The United States came in 12th in the poll behind South American countries like Brazil (5), Uruguay (6), El Salvador (7), Guatemala (9), Costa Rica (2) and of course Panama (1). Other countries ahead of the U.S. were Denmark (3), Austria (4), Sweden (8) and Canada (10).

The countries at the bottom of the Global Well Being list were those in the African nations and at the very bottom were Syria and Afghanistan.
