Tomorrow is October 1st and it will mark the beginning of major changes for many low-income residents in Maine. Governor Paul LePage's plans for welfare reform will take place.

Some of those changes include new rules that will require food stamp users to have a job and some welfare recipients to be drug-tested in order to continue to receive benefits.

Those who disagree with the Governor argue that the changes will cause many struggling recipients to unfairly lose their benefits and force them to reply on food banks.

Here are more details, starting in October, food stamp recipients between the ages 18 and 49 will have to work at least 20 hours a week, volunteer or participate in a work-training program or lose their benefits after three months.

This is a hot button issue and we want to know what you think. Do you agree with these changes or do you think many people who need the help will lose it?
