The Washington Redskins have been in the news due to the name of the team being deemed an offensive racial slur by some and pressure for the team to change the name. The town of Wiscasset, Maine dropped the nickname 'Redskins' four years ago from the town's high school after lobbying from Maine's Native American community.

The Wiscasset select board voted this week to allow a resident to rename a road 'Redskin's Drive'.

The board had decided that the name change was in honor of the generations of Wiscasset High School graduates who identify with the name.

Wiscasset schools joined RSU 12 and the school board changed the mascot to the Wolverines.

What do you think? Do you think the Wiscasset Select Board made the right decision by allowing the name change of the road to 'Redskin's Drive'?
