There are some strange laws that are the books in some states that have long passed the time when the laws made sense. These laws are still on the books but rarely, if ever, are enforced. Here’s a look at some of the ‘strange’ laws that were once thought to be needed.

In Georgia it’s illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole. It’s illegal for a school girl to offer to carry the books of a school boy if they are walking together.

In Kansas it’s illegal for restaurants to sell cherry pie a la mode on Sundays. In Wichita, Kansas, it’s illegal to carry a concealed bean snapper.

In Hawaii it’s against the law to put pennies in your ear.

In Maine it’s illegal to mistreat oysters. In Waterville it’s against the law to blow your nose in public. In Portland it’s illegal to tickle a woman under the chin with a feather duster. And, the most money one can legally win gambling is three dollars.

In Pennsylvania a person who has fought a duel cannot become Governor. It’s also illegal for a minister to perform a marriage if either of the bride or groom is drunk.

In Nebraska it’s illegal for bar ownesr to sell a beer unless they are brewing a kettle of soup at the same time.
