Springtime in Paris is coming to the Calumet Club in Augusta. It’s a benefit for The Maine French Language Program at the Buker Center in Augusta.
The University of Vermont did a study on the happiest languages in the world. They rated words in various languages like: sad, happy, laughter, food, truck, greed and terrorist. They asked people to rate the sound of the words on a scale from 1 to 9.

On June 17th, 1885, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York as a friendship gift from the people of France. The Statue was not assembled as it is today; it came in 350 separate pieces packed in more than 200 cases. The statue was built by French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi and commemorated the American Revolution and the friendship between the United States and France.
