Back in September, I shared with our listeners that I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. What is Chiari? First, let's pronounce it right: Key-R-ee. I will never understand the english language and WHY somedays 'CH' makes a 'Cha' sound and other days it makes a 'Ca' sound. Chiari Malformation is a neurological disorder where the bottom part of the brain descends out of the skull and crowds the spinal cord. It puts pressure on both the brain and spine. It also disrupts normal CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) flow.
