The 'Man' Cave

With football season in full swing, what better way to enjoy it than in your own 'man' cave! I was invited to watch some football this Sunday at my friend Damian's house in Wilton and to see his new 'man cave'. Knowing Damian, I knew he would go all out to make it really awesome, he did! His 'man cave' is his 2-car garage that he has converted into the 'man cave'.

Andy's Horseshoe Playoffs: Update

Here’s an update on the first round of the Lisbon Left-Hand Club Horseshoe League playoffs, WE WON! It’s kind of a funny situation, last season we were the 16th place team and had to play the 1st team in the first round of the playoffs. We won in a tiebreaker, 4-3. As fate would have it, this year we are the 14th place team and we faced the 3rd place team in the playoffs. It was the same team we faced last season in the first round!

Wrestling Rebirth

Professional wrestling has seen a rebirth here in Central Maine. B-98.5 has been involved with some of the area local shows and I was quite surprised to see how large the crowds were.

I attended a show in Fairfield earlier this year and there had to be close to 250 people packing the Fairfield Community Center! Then, as part of the Winslow 4th of July Celebration, a free wrestling show at Fort Halifax attracted a big crowd!

Fred Lynn and the Sea Dogs

Former Boston Red Sox center fielder Fred Lynn will be in
Maine at Hadlock Field when the Portland Sea Dogs taken on the Reading Phillies. Red Sox Hall of famer Lynn will throw out the first pitch at 6pm, September 1st for Travelers Night at the Ballpark. Lynn’s first pitch will help raise money for the Good Shepard Food Bank, the largest hunger relief organization in Maine.

Andy's Football Preview, Part 2

I took on the AFC in part one of Andy's Football Preview, now here's my take on the NFC.

Let's start in the east. The New York Giants are the defending Superbowl Champions and will be very solid again this season. The Dallas Cowboys, might have lost their TE Jason Whitten, which could be a very big loss for them. Washington always seems to have a good defense and running game and with the addition of rookie QB Robert Griffin III, they'll be exciting to watch and the Eagles look solid all around. I'll take the Eagles first, followed by the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins.
