A teacher in Denver, Colorado had a homework assignment for her third grade class when she wanted students to write down things ‘I wish my teacher knew’. She was surprised by the answers she received.

Kyle Shwartz, who teaches at Doull Elementary in Denver, let her students answer anonymously if they wished and most did. She also found her students wanted to share their answers with the rest of the class.

Some of the answers to her simple question, ‘I wish my teacher knew”.

‘I wish my teacher knew I didn’t have pencils at home to do my homework’.

‘I wish my teacher knew my reading log is not signed because my mom is not around a lot’.

‘I wish my teacher knew how much I miss my dad because he got departed to Mexico when I was 3 years old and I haven’t seen him in six years’.

The teacher posted her results on twitter and it went viral. You can see some of the writings here: upi.com
