The 2013 happiness report is out and the United States ranks 17th of 156 countries. Last year, the United Nations happiness report had America higher but this year we dropped. The United Kingdom was below us at 22nd, France 25th, Germany at 26th and China came in at 93rd.

So what countries came in above the United States? Canada was 6th, Israel 11th, Costa Rica 12th and Mexico (yes Mexico) at 16th. At the top of the list for most happy were Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden.

The saddest countries included Rwanda, Burundi, Togo and the Central African Republic.
