Even though it had started as a comic book years earlier, The Walking Dead became a cultural phenomenon in the 2010s.

The series, which first hit AMC in 2010, told the story of southern sheriff Rick Grimes who, after being injured in the line of duty, was comatose during the early days of the zombie apocalypse.

When Rick finally regained consciousness, he was plunged into a world that had gone mad.  The dead had risen from the grave and were now walking the streets, chowing down on the remaining living.  Loosely based on the comics, the story followed Rick as he led his group through what was left of the United States.

While the original show later waned in popularity, it spawned several great spinoffs.  These included the prequel series Fear the Walking Dead, the teen angst-filled Walking Dead: The World Beyond, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, and The Walking Dead: Dead City.

The first season of Dead City follows Maggie and Negan on an adventure into New York City.

It is beginning to look like the second season of the series is going to be set in Boston, Massachusetts.  What's even cooler is that they are looking for New Englanders to be a part of the next season.

According to Boston 25 News, the producers of the show are looking for extras to join the cast of the upcoming season.  Specifically, they are looking for people with weathered faces to play survivors or soldiers.  They are also looking for tall, thin people to play the part of walkers.

Shooting is expected to run from April through July.  Most of the shooting will be done Monday through Friday and will run about 12 hours each day.

These are paid positions, but no expenses will be paid.
