The crashes, according to WMTW, happened overnight in Herseytown Township, near Stacyville and Sherman. It's unclear at this time if these crashes all occurred separately or if they were the result of a chain reaction.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured though thousands of dollars in damages were done to the trucks. State authorities were urging people late Monday night to stay home until conditions on the roadways improved.

This morning is a perfect recipe for slick roads as there is still rain and freezing rain in the area and temps, for most of us, are still hovering around the freezing mark. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-30s today but snow and rain will still be mixing together all morning long and is expected to taper off around 2 pm for Central Maine.

As we continue through the week, the weather will only improve. We'll see clouds and 39 Wednesday, sun and 41 on Thursday and highs to 43 with a chance of rain showers on Friday.

Time to switch over to the winter studs and drive with caution!
