As part of a $12.5 million funding package from the federal government, Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, will receive $800,000. Acadia will use the money to build an intermodal transportation center. The center will be a place visitors can park their cars and take a free shuttle to places of interest around the park.  The funding was announced on Monday by Ray LaHood, U.S. Transportation Secretary and Maine is one of 29 states to receive funding for national parks, forests and wildlife refuges to help improve visitor access.
