I saw an event on facebook for a meeting to organize my high school's 30th reunion! Turning 30 didn't bother me. 40 wasn't that painful, but this 30th year reunion is making me feel old. I have noticed over the past several months that I have slowed down at the gym, especially doing cardio and I look at pictures and in the mirror and I don't see a 20-something Andy looking back.

The funny thing is, I lived just a mile from Edward Little High School in Auburn until 2005 and never heard of a 10th or 20th reunion. Now, I live in Augusta, and there it is on facebook! I have not seen almost any of the class of '83 in 30 years.

I wanted to take a look back at 1983 for a moment. Ronald Reagan was President. The average cost for a gallon of gas was $1.24. The cost of a stamp was 20 cents and a dozen eggs were 86 cents, while milk was $2.24 a gallon. The U.S. population was 233,791,994.

The number one song for 1983 was 'Every Breath You Take' by the Police and the highest rated television show was 'Dallas.'

This Saturday afternoon at Gipper's in Auburn, a group of the ELHS class of '83, will be meeting to talk about our 30th reunion this summer. If it was up to me, I'd keep it simple. Maybe a BBQ and bonfire, or a trip to Reid State Park.

Look at all the hair I had in 1983! I'd love to see your high school pictures and stories of high school reunions that you've attended.
