A major Interstate 95 interchange bridge in Augusta will be shut down, starting today, for about three months. The Department of Transportation says the bridge leading from the Exit 113 ramp from the southbound lanes of I-95 to Route 3 eastbound will close starting today.It's all part of the $13 million project to improve traffic flow, intersections and to ease congestion for the new Alfond Center for Health.

The interchange ramp leading from Route 3 to the northbound lanes of I-95 have been closed for weeks and are slated to re-open on May 31st.

More Maine Turnpike notes: The Maine Turnpike at mile 108 in Hallowell, just south of Western Avenue, will have traffic stops in both directions late today and early Tuesday.

The stops will be up to 20 minutes at a time, starting at 10 p.m. tonight and end at 2 a.m. Tuesday. The stops are required to allow crews to perform overhead utility work.
