The Maine Department of Transportation has just released its list ranking high-crash intersections in Maine. Three of the top 11 are in Augusta.

In fact, Augusta has the number one and three most dangerous intersections in the state.

The list is complied from crashes and amount of traffic, the statistic known as 'critical rate factor' or CRF. It doesn't factor in how serious injuries are.

Here's the list:

1. Augusta: Intersection of I-95 Southbound Ramp onto Western Avenue
2. West Gardiner: Intersection of Lewiston Road Ramp on from Route 9 and 126
3. Augusta: Intersection of Bangor Street on Cony Circle
4. Portland: Intersection of Forest Avenue Ramp H to Forest Avenue
5. Westbrook: Intersection of Cumberland Street and Warren Avenue
6. Augusta: Intersection of Memorial Circle and Western Avenue
7. Palmyra: Intersection of Oxbow Rd. Ramp C From Route 100
8. Belfast: Intersection of Head of the Tide Extension
9. Portland: Intersection of Forest Avenue Ramp E Off to Forest Avenue
10. Auburn: Intersection of Elm and High Street
11. Jay: Intersection of Chesterville Road, Depot Road and Franklin Road.
