Augusta / Waterville Could See A “White” Black Friday

Last week, and over the weekend, we were hearing that the eastern part of the country could end up seeing a good sized winter storm just prior to Thanksgiving.  Some parts of the east, like upstate New York, are getting that nasty weather.  However, here in New England, it has been beautiful!  And, it looks like we will continue to see that nice weather through most of Thanksgiving Day.

It does, however, look like the weather will take a turn for the nasty just about the time you are trying to figure out how you are going to fit all those leftovers in the fridge.

According to the National Weather Service, the clouds will start rolling into the Augusta / Waterville area on Thursday afternoon.  By Friday morning, we'll be dealing with a mix of rain and snow.  The fact that we're expected to have a high of around 37 means whatever we get for snow won't really stick around.

Overnight on Friday, that mixed precipitation will change to snow.  By Saturday afternoon, the snow will taper to snow showers.  When it is all over, we could see about an inch of snow on the ground.

The sun is back on Sunday so there is a good chance that any snow will be melted by the time we all go back to work on Monday.

The National Weather Service says the mid-coast could see some rain and snow on Friday, but the sun will return to the area by Saturday afternoon.  And, with a high of 39 on Saturday, anything that falls will be gone by Sunday morning.

It does not look like what we have coming will cause many problems for travelers, but please be safe all the same.
