Central Maine's newest singing competition started this past Friday and what a great start! Randy McCoy and I rolled into T & B's Outback Tavern at 7:40 p.m. and there wasn't an empty seat in the place! This was our first qualifying round in the 'Bee A Country Star' contest and there was a lot of good singers! We'd like to thank Bryant Suzy Q karaoke for doing such a great job and the staff of T & B's Outback Tavern for being so gracious.

Our first four finalist are: Nyssa Rose, Helen Cates, Melissa Stephens and Adam Lamson.

We have three more qualifying rounds. The next one is this Thursday night at The End Zone on Elm Street in Waterville. Join Sharon Buck and myself starting at 7, with the singing starting around 8. Then our final two qualifying rounds will be at Silver Street Tavern in Waterville on Tuesday, June 18th and Tuesday, June 25th, with our live broadcast starting at 7 p.m. both nights.

Then the 16 qualifiers will compete at the 'Bee A Country Star' finals on June 29th at Capital Park in Augusta, starting at noon. With the first place winning $500! We'll have cash prizes for second and third.

Bee A Country Star is brought to you by Ray Haskell Ford in Oakland and also by Priceless Northern Mattress in Augusta, Waterville and Skowhegan and Electricity Maine.

We hope to see you this Thursday at the End Zone in Waterville!
