
Police Reveal Identity of Man Killed in Augusta, Maine on Monday Night
Earlier this week, we told you that several law enforcement agencies were in the process of investigating what appeared to be a murder in Augusta, Maine.
We now have an updated to that story
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, the man killed in that incident has been identified as 51-year-old Billyjack Curtis, of Augusta.
The press release explains, that a representative for the Augusta Police Department says officers were called to a home on Flagg Street around 11:15 Monday night after the report of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found an adult man dead inside the residence. T
he Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central was called in to help investigate. The victim was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy later determined he died from a gunshot wound and that the death is being treated as a homicide.
Police have identified the man as 51-year-old Billyjack Curtis of Augusta. Authorities say there is no known danger to the public at this time. The investigation is still ongoing, and more information will be released when appropriate.
